The Opportunity

We’ve recently had a new and exciting full-time opportunity open in our close-knit Finance team here at Pedders Suspension and Brakes. Based at our head office, this role will have a significant impact on our accounts receivable and accounts payable spaces.

The role will contribute through reconciliation of accounts, maintaining ledgers, ensuring key customers like our Franchisees are invoiced promptly and handling some End of Month processes whilst also providing general accounts support to the Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing of invoice requests and other key accounts receivable tasks.
  • Reconciliation of supplier invoices and adjustment notes for accuracy and other key accounts payable tasks.
  • Ongoing reconciliations of various General Ledger accounts.
  • Assist with completing month end journals and bank reconciliations.
  • Review accuracy of information required for all financial transactions on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist with analysis of data to identify efficiencies, cost controls and improved business practices.
  • Assist with Payroll at times where required.
  • Provide support and back-up to other Accounts Officers within the team including supporting reception at times and taking phone calls.
  • Continuously review accounts processes to ensure best practice and adherence to accounting standards, policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to the Financial Accountant & Management Accountant to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all finance and accounting tasks.

What You Bring To The Team

  • Demonstrated experience previously working with and navigating accounting packages
  • Experience communicating with various stakeholders both in written and verbal formats
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Sound experience when it comes to problem solving and being resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
  • Evidence in prior work of multitasking and prioritising tasks whilst working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow direction as well as work autonomously when direction has been set, or projects have been established
  • Experience working in a previous role where a high level of attention to detail is required
  • Experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, bank reconciliations, and ledger management (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with the preparation of financial reports, assist with audits, and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes (preferred)
  • Familiarity with invoice processing and expense claims handling (preferred)
  • Exposure to working in a franchise environment (preferred)
